The Water Facilities Authority is recruiting to fill one of the above positions, depending on qualifications.

The Water Facilities Authority (Authority) owns and operates an 81 MGD conventional water treatment facility that treats imported State Project Water, located in Upland, California. The Authority is seeking an Operator who, under general supervision, will perform a wide variety of skilled journey-level duties and other duties as assigned. EOE

Position
Performs a full range of water treatment, maintenance and emergency response duties for an 81 MGD conventional surface water treatment plant, laboratory and related distribution facilities. Participation in HAZWOPER team and SCBA use. Operators will work a regular day shift (4/10) and will be required to work mandatory standby rotations, and occasionally be required to work weekends, holidays, and OT when necessary. Standby duty requires 30 minutes or less response arrival time to treatment plant.

Requirements

Operator II - High School diploma or equivalent; AND three years of experience as a certified water treatment operator; AND California T2 Water Treatment and D2 Water Distribution Operator Certifications and an ability to obtain a Water Treatment Operator Grade 3 and Water Distribution Operator Grade 3 within 12 months of hire; AND valid California Class C Driver License with current DMV printout; must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and hazmat physical.

Operator III - High School diploma or equivalent; AND three years of experience as a Grade II water treatment operator; AND California T3 Water Treatment and D3 Water Distribution Operator Certifications; AND valid California Class C Driver License with current DMV printout; must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and hazmat physical.

Operator IV - High School diploma or equivalent; AND three years as a Grade III water treatment operator; AND California T4 Water Treatment and D3 Water Distribution Operator Certifications; AND valid California Class C Driver License with current DMV printout; must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and hazmat physical.
