Nature of Work
The Assistant Construction Supervisor is responsible for the planning, coordination, and management of municipal construction projects related to special development projects in downtown Rochester. Typical duties include but are not limited to: directing the work and assignments of field employees and consultant inspectors assigned to specific projects; assisting with preparing capital project budgets, and completion of research/reports. The role will work closely with contractors, consultants, city staff, and other stakeholders to ensure that construction projects are executed efficiently, safely, with high quality, and in compliance with contractual terms, local codes, and regulations.

The Assistant Construction Supervisor will have a primary focus on field construction oversight and contract administration.  

Minimum Qualifications: 
An Associates degree in Construction or Contract Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of progressively responsible employment experience in municipal construction projects and/or large, complex private projects.

An equivalent combination of education, certification and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position may be considered.
