The Director of Public Works leads, develops, and administers the Public Works Department operations and activities. The Director provides oversight, management, and direction for the Public Works personnel and programs, including capital improvement, mapping and geographical information systems, engineering and survey, roads and transportation, facilities and properties, fleet and shop, service districts, and land use. The person in this position establishes the goals and objectives for the Department and assures alignment of Public Works priorities with the County’s strategic and organizational goals. The Director is responsible for carrying out County policies and procedures and works collaboratively with other departments and community partners to improve quality of outcomes, maximize use of resources, and increase efficiencies.

Qualified applicants will possess:
BA/BS in Engineering, Public Administration, or closely related field.
10 years of directly related experience, including at least 5 years of experience supervising professional level staff in a related field
Professional Engineering License preferred
Experience: municipal public works including engineering, streets, water/wastewater treatment
Ability to obtain Oregon Drivers' License
