The City of San Antonio is currently seeking two Assistant Directors for the Center City Development and Operations Department. One Assistant Director over Development and the other over Operations.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
Responsible for planning, directing, managing, and overseeing activities and operations in the downtown area, including Economic Development, Facilities Management, Real Estate Development, Contract Management and Fiscal Services
-Assist with managing the development and implementation of department goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for each assigned service area; establishes, within City policy, appropriate service and staffing levels; and allocates resources accordingly.
-Assist in the Administration of the Center City Housing Incentive Policy and the City and San Antonio Water System fee waiver programs.
-Oversees the City’s real estate and leasing divisions and the associated contract monitoring for sidewalk and patio leases, tenant leases, development agreements, and other incentive agreements.
-Oversee operations and maintenance of special venues including La Villita and Market Square.
-Develop and manage programming for Travis Park and other downtown areas.
-Collaborate with downtown stakeholders on downtown policies and strategies.
-Administer the Brownfields policy for the City of San Antonio and ensure compliance with federal and state grants.
-Coordinate and support partnership agencies such as Centro Partnership, San Antonio for Growth on the East Side (SAGE), Westside Development Corporation (WDC), and Hemisfair Park Area Redevelopment Corporation (HPARC).

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Responsible for assisting in planning, directing, managing, and overseeing the activities and operations of the Center City Development & Operations Department including Parking Operations, Riverwalk Maintenance, Downtown Event Planning, Facility Maintenance and Parking Enforcement.
-Oversees the operations and activities of all services performed in the downtown area in coordination with other City departments, and the downtown public improvement district, including maintenance services, event coordination, contract administration, and budget and fiscal management; and recommends and administers policies and procedures.
-Manage operations and maintenance of 6,292 public parking spaces located across 4 parking garages, 8 surface lots, and on-street parking. Administer the residential permit parking program and manage parking enforcement for the entire city.
-Maintain 3.5 miles of the San Antonio River Walk and manage the river barge concession contract.
-Coordinate large downtown events including annual New Year’s Eve celebration, Fiesta, Rock ’n’ Roll Marathon, river parades, and other large events.
-Assists with management responsibilities for all department services and recommends and administers policies and procedures.
-Oversees vending programs such as the River Walk vending program, food truck vending, and mobile food vending programs

REQUIREMENTS
-Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in Business Administration, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Real Estate, or related field.
-Five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional experience in public sector management, Urban Planning, Infill Redevelopment, or Real Estate Development including three (3) years of administrative or supervisory experience.
